2010 – The Year of the Grown-Up

Since I was at convention (and hence without access to a computer) over New Years, I seem to have missed out on the typical 2009-review, 2010-goals kind of post. Since then, I’ve been putting off blogging for some unfathomable reason, so today – halfway through the month already! – I’ve finally got the motivation to start writing. I’ll make this my New Year’s post, and I’ve got a few more bits and pieces to put up to bring us up-to-date – if I date it all retroactively, it shouldn’t get too confusing!

So… 2010. The last few days of 2009 were scary, just waiting for the decade to click over… because this is the year I grow up. This is the year I graduate (hopefully). For four years I’ve been writing ‘graduation – 2010′ on various forms and things. Suddenly, it is 2010, and I have to think about being fully responsible, getting a teaching position, even moving away from home (and, I guess I better get my license soon). Funnily enough, when I started Uni I was determined that I’d have no part in the graduation ceremony – standing in front of lots of people in a weird robe didn’t do anything for me. However, after years of (reasonably) hard work, and making friends with a bunch of excellent people to share the day with, I’m looking forward to it! Ever since I was little, I’ve wanted to be a teacher – now I’m so close to having the classroom of my dreams and doing all the things I’ve been imagining for the last fifteen years, it’s almost nervewracking.

Time to grow up, Anna ‘Relle.
