"Arena"

Anyone who knows the least bit about me probably has a pretty good idea why I like this week’s flickr user’s photos! bia.hvid’s use of colour and texture pulled me in straight away. The ‘arena’ photo was the first of her work that I saw (while trawling flickr for photos taken with the camera I use) and I was simultaneously blown away and completely absorbed by the clashing textures, the gorgeous colouring and the content of the picture. I love the heavy, hanging clouds, the rough masonry and the slightly sinister, old-photograph-discoloured tint to the sky.

"Avvolte"

The ‘Avvolte’ photo is completely different, but again it emphasises why bia.hvid’s work is appealing to me. The slippery texture, coupled with the earthy colours and the all-around organic nature of the photos is the sort of thing that keeps me clicking through her photostream.  You should certainly check it out, as well!
