Portrait in Sepia

Today’s photo is taken from my friend Dan’s collection. On Tuesday we went on a little sojourn in search of photo opportunities to the Duck Reach power station (not intentionally, that’s just where we ended up). To get to the old power station building, you have to cross the Gorge via a suspension bridge. There is also a pathway to the river under the bridge, and since there isn’t a lot of water around at the moment, there are lots of big rocks to scramble around on.
I didn’t get any photos at all from Tuesday’s photohunt – I think Dan stole them all, because he had more great shots than usual. This is one of his, taken under the bridge. I don’t feel at all ripped off for my absence of nice photos, because I’ve got some great photos of myself! (Vain, much? ) Next time I’ll have to work on getting some decent shots for him.
I chose the sepia version of this photo over the colour version… the monotone is a much better way to appreciate the textures and the contrasts in the picture. There are some other photos from the same hunt up on Dan’s flickr account. They’re fantastic, you should check them out!
