Before and After

Wow, it seems to be My Face week. Sounds like a bad TV show cover of a social networking website, doesn’t it? However…

Last night I was at a loose end, too tired to be creative (oh, how I envy those who ooze creativity even in their sleep) and desperately in need of something to do. I stumbled across a touch-up tutorial and spent an enjoyable half hour editing the flaws of a complete stranger, wondering all along whether she knowingly gave her face for the cause.

After successfully beautifying her, I felt my new skills needed some practice – and although this isn’t a great photo by any means, I quite like the difference that an hour’s solid photoshopping can make! Whiter teeth, brighter eyes, less blemishes, un-chapped lips, more flattering colours… the miracles of a clone stamp tool!

I may have gone overboard with recolouring the clothes… what do you think? One of the steps in the tutorial was to match the girl’s scarf to her skin tone – I matched my hat to my eyes instead. The top and dress recolour may be a little too much, though.

Ok so right now I am having the perplexed face that makes you lol! :-) Its like an optical illusion! I can’t figure out if the width of your forehead was shrunk or if it looks smaller because you changed the hair??? :-/ hmmm…perplexed face…

but it does look awesome – I love the colour of the beanie but is in agreement with you about the top. The fade out of the couch was quite clever and effective :-)

    LSHMTFOALIMC at your perplexed face!
The width of my forehead is exactly the same… just the hair, I guess.
Thanks you :-) It’s quite amazing what a difference a few small tweaks makes.
    Also: I want a gum-tree-green beanie, now.

wow yeah it does make a difference – not that I’m saying your forehead looked large or anything! Maybe we shall have to hunt for a gum-tree-green beanie :-) I like that colour description!!
