My favourite Flickr’er for this week is blopsmen

Both of the pictures here come from his Abandonos set – which is quite possibly my favourite collection of his work. He captures desolation, decay and despair with a click of the shutter. But he also finds joyfulness in those same things. He has portrayed the colour and faded glory of a few metal curlicues, the ominous atmosphere of a garage filled with tyres, and the surreal emptiness of a tiny hut. Like all fantastic photographers, he wraps it all up in moody lighting and great composition, and delivers it with a grungy, metal-in-your-mouth panache. (and he does it all with a FujiFilm Finepix s1000fd!)
