CanTeen Cushions
Friday (the 30th of October) is Bandana Day in Australia. Bandanas have been on sale all month in various stores, including Woolworths, but you still have the chance to buy a square of fabric and support young people aged 12-24 who are living with cancer. Friday is the official day to wear your bandana and show your support for CanTeen, but after that, what do you do with it? I try to buy two new bandanas a year, and when I’m finished with them, I turn them into bright, cheerful and easy no-sew cushion covers that look great and are easy to change when I feel the urge. Here are some step-by-step instructions so you can turn your bandanas into cushion covers, too!
1. Lay one bandana flat on the ground.
2. Place a cushion insert on top of the bandana on a 90 degree angle.
3. Bring two opposite corners together and tie them firmly. Don’t worry if it squashes the cushion a little, that just makes them fluffier!
4. Bring the other two corners together and tie them firmly as well. If you have a smaller cushion, you may like to leave the cover at this, as it usually covers the entire cushion.
5. Lay another bandana out on the ground.
6. Place the single-wrapped bandana knots-down on a 90 degree angle to the new bandana.
7. Tie two opposite corners together in the centre of the cushion.
8. Tuck the remaining corners into the middle of the cushion cover.
9. Line up, stack or otherwise arrange your cushions around the house! Mix up the colours from time to time, and take advantage of October next year to buy a new cushion cover!

You are a myriad of ideas m’dear! That is really clever, just the other day I was thinking that I need some cushions in my lounge room… come pay day I think I might just have a go at this!
I love the fact that you have the added bonus of helping charity.
