Feeling Blue
So, tonight I had the sudden urge to paint myself (no, not paint as in on a canvas, paint as in… well, you’ll see). Since that urge interrupted an Avatar-inspired drawing that I just can’t get right, I figured a self-portrait of me as a not-quite Na’vi was appropriate. I think the spark of the painting idea came from the Painted Tuesday set of my favourite Flickr’er, Nic Temby. Lots of blue liquid chalk (oh, won’t that have a lovely impact on my skin?) later, I had a bunch of photos and a lot of mess – but nothing really inspiring. Anyways, here’s an edited shot from my little photoshoot… I had fun, and although it’s not a very true-to-life Na’vi representation, hey… I’m only human! As usual, click to enlarge!

i love it! did you have to do some blue touch up in photoshop, or did your cover the enire skin seen with blue? purple is an excellent bit in it.

It was all blue – I did half my face (couldn’t be bothered with the rest, just decided to do a close crop like this
). A few places had kinda melted and worn off by the time I got this shot, so I patched them up with photoshop – but most of it is really truly paint! xD

wait…so you really painted yourself blue???? your eye looks so green! was that photoshoped???
