Jones… Martha Jones.
Martha is quite possibly my least favourite Dr. Who companion of all time. I’m not sure what it is… I think her character is just too self-controlled and motivated to fit well with the Doctor. She’s got her own life and her own story that are completely at odds with travelling through the universe. That, and she’s much too gorgeous. I like the companions who are a little less sexy and a little more lifelike. They make the whole concept of an Earth girl travelling through time and space so much more realistic. This is probably why Donna is my favourite companion to date.
Nevertheless, I drew Martha, and it was quite a challenge. I almost gave up twice, but sheer stubbornness made me try again, and thankfully it worked out a whole lot better! So this one’s for Andrew – who manages to admire Martha’s self-sufficiency and sassiness in a way that I simply can’t.

Everything is just perfect. I will actually go out and say that this one is my favourite one you’ve done, I can’t pick anything to nipick on.

Let’s see… the jacket shading isn’t as good as it was on Ianto. There’s no highlights in her hair. I forgot to colour the necklace.
I’m pretty happy with her face, tho!

In response to your blerb I was with you 100% until you said you like Donna, I had to stop watching Dr Who for ages until I could sum up the courage to sit through watching her! I cannot stand her at all… and Kyle said I remind him of her
Anyway, your drawing – I think this is the best drawing you have done so far! I cannot find anything to fault!! I am extreemly jealous of you but proud of you too

So she is pretty freaking awesome of course not as awesome as “my” Ianto and Jack (yes I have claimed them) and I totally agree with you about the companion thing I never really liked Martha she never quite seemed the right fit which wasn’t mad any easier by her being written as smitten with the Doctor. She always seemed a little whiny to me to be honest. That being said some of my FAVOURITE Dr. Who episodes where from season 3 so I dunno!
