Knitting Fever

It’s taken a while to sink in this season, but I finally got hold of a book (Funky Knits: Knitting Know-How for Hip Young Things), and then I just had to pick up a pair of (tiny!) needles. I’m not so good with anything under 5mm, so it was a bit of a challenge, but I finally finished my first knitting project of winter 2009! (And tomorrow is… the first day of spring! okay, I fail.)  The pattern in the book wasn’t fit-able, so I twisted and turned and used pieces of cardboard, and finally came up with my own pattern.

I love the sense of achievement I get from finishing a project, and lately it seems like I never manage to see anything through to the end in one sitting, so it’s been fantastic to actually finish something off and have something to show off that I’m proud of. Go me! xD

So what is it? A knitted cosy for my MP3 player! It’s actually just a practise run for a cosy for a 3rd Gen iPod nano, which is just a bit shorter than my Walkman. Here’s a photo, anyway. Anyone looking for the pattern can leave a comment and I’ll get back to you :-) .
