Marshmallow Delight
How to make your own gourmet marshmallows in an afternoon…
Step one: Find a pretty apron to wear and put it on.
Step two: Read all about making marshmallows on this blog.
Step three: Collect ingredients.
Step four: Take the apron off, find your wallet and a bag, walk to the supermarket to buy more gelatine. Pick up some chocolate and an extra bottle of milk as well, for testing the final product.
Step five: Follow the recipe. Make sure you spread the icing sugar around you in a circle approximately twice the diameter of your arm span, and leave some corn starch on the bench to drop the tea-towel in later. Splattering the mixture across the floor is an optional extra.
Step six: After emptying the mixing bowl, use your fingers to scrape the already-set mixture from the edges. Discover the amazing glue-like properties of this gunk, and spend a fascinating twenty minutes experimenting with the noises and amount of suction you can create using marshmallow gunk and your hands. If possible, share these with someone else, while giggling like a small child.
Step seven: Take lots of photos and send them to your friends to make them jealous!
Quite seriously, this was one of the most fun things I’ve ever done in the kitchen, and totally worth the time and effort! Making marshmallows is absolutely the one thing that nobody should miss out on doing. So what are you waiting for?
