New Year’s Blogolution

Time to talk about the blog. It’s taken me a while to get back into the swing of things this month, but I think the few weeks break has done me good, and I’m ready to start regular posts again. So before 2010 kicks off, let’s look at some stats and stuff from last year:

From the start of August 2009, when I moved to this site, to the end of the year, I’ve made 148 posts – close to one a day! And you (lovely people that you are) have made over 400 comments. I’ve had over 5,500 independent views in those five months.

I think by far the most enjoyable blogging experience I’ve had was the Pictober challenge – to post a photo every day (taken on the day) for the month of November. It really was a challenge some days, to come up with something artistic or even the slightest bit interesting to post – but I stuck to it and found that I missed it when it was over. Another attempt to do the same thing wasn’t as successful, though – Photember fell flat mainly because I was only doing it for myself. I much prefer having Dan or someone else to push me to succeed. I’d love to repeat this challenge every couple of months or so, though!

I love it when I can just get into the swing of posting something every single day – some days it gets old very quickly, though. Other days, when I have something exciting to share or show off, I love posting. I wish it wasn’t unrealistic to make a goal to post every day for the year. The month-based challenges seem to be the best.

So, anyone got a challenge for me? I’ll consider all things, and maybe even take you up on something if it sounds good enough! Any suggestions (about the site, about content, about my life) are most welcome right now. Okay, probably not about my life, but I want to get everything running nicely for the rest of the year!

Bring it on!

p.s. No, I will not stop making awful puns in the titles of my posts.

how about when a monthly challenge is started, the losers have to by the winner a free hot coffee and dessert of their choicein a cafe. It’s a silly prize, but also a small nudge of incentive for the others to win.
