nolimitsinhim
Yesterday when I did my weekly trawl through Flickr to find something to review, I was motivated by the excitement of having an optometrist appointment this morning! I love getting new glasses, and I love looking at ads for glasses, and I was curious about how photographers with the same camera as I used spectacles as props in their photos.
This piece of light play was one that bounced out at me from the search results. nolimitsinhim states that this was a first attempt at light painting, using a mobile phone and a colour-changing LED light. What I love about these photos is the way the light is reflected in the lenses, doubling the effect of the light trails and transforming the chaos in the air into some semblance of design. The colours aso work well together, and the back lighting works nicely.
Nolimitsinhim is an amateur, self-taught photographer, like myself. These photos are nine months old, but I applaud the way this photographer has grabbed the camera with both hands and tried a little bit of everything. Finding these photos has inspired me to have another go at some light play!
Also, on the subject of glasses, I would like to recognise the fantastic staff of SpecSavers in Launceston (it used to be CWC optometrists). Every person I was in contact with was friendly and professional. The optometrist made sure I understood what was happening with my eyes, showed me all the test results and explained them thoroughly, and even recommended a certain frame shape to minimise lens thickness (ol’ blind me). They made buying glasses even more fun than I anticipated, and I highly recommend them to anyone. (oh, and with private health cover, I was only out of pocket $27 for two pairs of glasses and various eye tests.)
