Scarlet Saturday – Swan Style
I’ve had the idea for a set red-themed photo day buzzing around in my head for quite a while. Basically, the idea is that the photo/picture I post on Scarlet Saturdays may have no other colour except red in it. Today DigDan and I went on a photohunt for the first time in months, and since I got a few good shots that feature something scarlet, I’ve decided to get this thing started! This means that for the next three Saturdays at least, I will have a post. It doesn’t mean that every Saturday ever afterwards will be a Scarlet Saturday – just like Self Portrait Sunday, I may not post or I may post something different. But hopefully having a theme will help me focus just that little bit more!
Today was a good day, all in all. It was my cousin Grant’s 21st birthday, which Mum and I helped him celebrate with lunch at Links. It was good to catch up with some people I haven’t seen for a while, and I got to cuddle my second cousin, fourth-month-old Natalia… d’aww. It was a fantastic change of pace to get out on the streets with Dan, though, and just snap away. I haven’t taken photos or spent time with my old college friends for much too long, and I forget how much more like me I feel when I’m around the friends I teenagered with. I must do it more often!
Today’s photo was taken at the Seaport. These two swans followed us around the boardwalk… if we went close to the water, there they were, obviously waiting for food. Slightly annoying, because they’d get too close to get a good photo of, and while they were paddling towards us they kept sliding out of the shot! I was quite amazed that I got a shot as good as this one, actually!

Scarlet saturday sounds like an excellent theme, I’d like to see more, i like the red, black and white combo, so works for me!
I’ve heard a roat swan is quite tough to eat, but considered very royal.
And we do need to hang out more, I enjoy it a lot when we hang.

Now, who on earth mentioned roasting the swans?! They’re too pretty to roast. and they’d probably bite your fingers off at the elbow if you tried to get too close. Swans are slightly scary!
