Self Portrait Sunday – Autumn I

Tonight I got that sudden, irrepressible urge to paint myself. Oh go on, you know you get it too. With a flash of inspiration (prompted a great deal by Miss Gibberhouse’s input), I started gunking up with an Autumn theme in mind. As usual (and as I forgot) with facepaint shots, the best ones always come out of the ‘taking it off’ stage. This is my one decent picture from the hour and a half of effort it took to paint up, take the photos and (mostly) wash.

I kind of like the cracking paint as a medium of Autumn – it reminds me of dried leaves crunching, the well-worn creases and shapes breaking through from under the last, brief swan-song of colour, revealing the true (albeit dead) surface below.

And now, I really must go shower, before this paint in my hair gives me a permanently orange fringe!

I like the colour! It’s so sun goddess thought-provoking! On a less deep tangent, you remind me of what an autumn plant-sim would look like.

I think I had autumn-plant-sim in the back of my head somewhere when I was painting! I need a lot more practise (and finer brushes) before I get autumn-sun-sprite quality.
