Self-Portrait Sunday: Looking Glass

I spent ages editing and merging two versions of the same photo to get the focus and contrast fixed up on this photo, then realised that it wasn’t as mirror-y as I thought, which kind of defeated the whole purpose. Nevertheless, it was taken in a mirror, and at the time it seemed a little more looking-glass-ish. I was shooting for…

“Nothing daunted by the strange susurrations in the surface of the mirror, Alice reached out a hand and gathered her camera off the mantlepiece as she stepped through the frame. If something of unprecedented weird was happening, she wasn’t going to miss documenting it.”

Have you noticed the hype about Tim Burton’s Alice, by the way? Yeah, I thought it was kinda hard to miss. What do you think? Genius or overdone?

DId you write that Alice line or is that from the book? I like the foggy-ness and old china, kinda eastern reminder for me. Camera probably looks a bit modern though. :-) Good use of blur.
