Silken Saris
After a very full day at Uni, when I walked through the door at five o’ clock I thought my photo for today was going to be of a whiteboard filled with diagrams and notes – I took that at nine this morning, anticipating that it would probably be the most exciting thing to happen all day. Of course, I was wrong (as usual) because when I did finally walk through the door, a lovely fat parcel was waiting with my name on it!
I bought a couple of Tilda Wraps online on Thursday night – I couldn’t believe they were here so fast, and they are absolutely gorgeos! The idea is that they can be worn as a skirt, dress, shawl, whatever – you’re only limited by your imagination. They’re made out of crushed silk, and each one is completely unique – the material is from vintage Saris sourced and transformed (using fair trade practices, of course!) in India. Not only do they look good, they feel great and are even good for your Global Citizenship Karma!
I thought such a momentous occasion called for a bit of work, so I pinned up a king size sheet, played around with the lighting and even pulled in a few props… this diptych is the result. I’m incredibly tired, but very happy… now I just have to stop playing with these wraps long enough to sleep!

wow, that pic of you and the dress is gorgeous! It’s all very babylonian priestess like. The Golden Lighting is cool too! I like the fabric
