[Sunday] Sharing

It’s fairly late, but I wasn’t feeling great yesterday. I went to the doctor today. She was lovely, and sent me home with panadol and a certificate for a week off. She also took some swabs (jamming a rather long cotton bud that’s labelled ‘Gonorrhoea/Chlamydia’ up one’s nose isn’t on top of my list of things to do to pass the time) to test for swine flu, although that’s more for mum’s sake than mine. Anyway, after a day on the couch, I know if I don’t do something I’ll get cabin fever a whole lot faster. So here’s the sharing:

A Quote:There’s no sense crying over every mistake, you just keep on trying til you run out of cake.” – Apparently from the credits of the game Half Life 2. I’ve never played it, and don’t really have any desire to do so, but Andrew shared the song with me, and it made me smile. I feel that this is an extremely good policy (at least, taken out of context with the rest of the song, it is!)

A Goal: To get the blog updated and keep it that way. I know this week hasn’t got off to a very good start after my holiday on Saturday, but I’ll try to make the effort, despite being a half-dead, sooky, flu-ridden mess.

A Promise: To myself – I will start writing creatively again. I just have to find my muse again.

A Site: Bubbl.us – It absolutely made my day when I found this site through one of my uni courses! It’s an online tool for creating mind maps and the like… and you can save them, make them pretty colours, and share them so others can see how your thinking works, or even add to the brainstorm! Maybe my excitement is the teacher in me rising to the surface, but I must say… this is the best digital mind mapping tool I’ve found!

A Photo: Some people have been …demanding… to see photos from my birthday. The morning/afternoon, which I spent with my uni and college friends, yielded up some fantastic shots. The evening, not so much… too many people, too little space, too many demands on my attention. Nevertheless… you can see the pictures on my facebook. Here’s one I prepared earlier…

If it is the teacher side coming out in you about the website it must be the fact that I worked in education (only for two years but still) that excites me! That is a FANTASTIC website!! If I wasn’t at work at the moment I would sit there and play with it all day!
