The Raggedy Doctor
The Doctor in a top hat… nothing, ever, will be more awesome than the Doctor now. I’m so frustrated. though, that I couldn’t draw him to do him justice. I had a couple of tries, however, and without further ado, here they are:

Obviously, two of these are the same sketch, but I worked on them differently. The first, I was aiming for a sketchier/etched feel. The last, I was shooting for a watercolour-y effect. The middle picture I fully intended to colour, but one I got started I decided that the two-tone thing was working. Well… what do you think?
The last picture is far and away my favourite… the colouring worked for me, and of course… a Tom Baker scarf is just awesome.
I have always had a thing for top hats. The top hat in Monopoly mesmerises me, the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland is so much cooler with a top hat, and the Cobb & Co. hat that Emma left is, I’m certain, slightly magical. The Doctor is my absolute favourite contemporary character from fiction, and when he’s in a top hat… just, WIN. That is all.

Probably an unpopular opinion, But the non-coloured one is my fav, it reminds me of a page in an old novel from the 17th or the 18th century or something. It’s so cool, makes me feel all nostalgic over the Doctor.

lol, damning with faint praise indeed, Kyle!

Heh, I was aiming for a woodcut effect, Roo – and since that was the main method of illustrating books a few centuries ago, I’m awesomely glad that I succeeded! The power of cross-hatching wins through!
