What I Love About Summer – #2

mangosplash

Without a doubt, mango is my favourite fruit of the season. Artificial flavourings or processed foods with mango I can take or leave, but fresh  fruit -  outside in the sunshine, dripping juice and glowing golden – is the absolute number one eating experience of Summer. Mango on pizzas or quickly barbecued isn’t bad either, but it seems to be one of those things that you either love or you hate – some people simply can’t stand the texture.

I remember reading an article about the sensuality of mango – that it’s arguably one of the sexiest foods around. Slippery flesh that you can sink your teeth into, tantalising on the tip of your tongue, smooth and supple, subtley scented… I’d say that’s just about right.

What’s your take on the mango?
